Route of Wellness: Heritage Run

Audience: Adults, running communities, wellness enthusiasts, heritage lovers, and participants interested in exploring Historic Jeddah through movement. Participants should be comfortable with light to moderate running.

Building on the museum’s Route of Wellness bike tour, this guided heritage run
extends the Red Sea Museum’s healthy lifestyle approach by connecting movement, heritage
and urban discovery. Participants will run through selected routes around Historic Jeddah,
pausing at key points to hear short stories that connect the city’s gates, pilgrimage routes,
coastal memory, trade and the living history of Al-Balad. The program encourages a healthier
and more sustainable way to engage with the city, offering participants a chance to experience
Historic Jeddah from street level. The run will conclude at the Red Sea Museum with a short
cool-down, light refreshments and a museum visit, it should be concise and low-energy after
the run, focusing only on selected highlights that connect to the route.

Refreshments:
Light refreshments should be offered after the cool-down and before the museum tour.
Suggested refreshments include water, juice, dates, fruit and light snacks.

Pre-program Coordination:
Safety briefing before departure, coordination with security and operations team, route
approval, permits if required, emergency contact list, first-aid support, hydration plan, pace
grouping, weather assessment

Materials:
Running route map, reflective vests or route markers, first-aid kit, bottled water / hydration
station, registration and waiver forms, support team at start/end point, light refreshments,
guide, photographer / videographer and welcome signage.
