Robert Polidori, a Canadian photographer, acclaimed for his expansive, intricately detailed
images of architectural spaces. His seven aerial photographs capture Akra Kome, an ancient
Nabataean port that connected to Red Sea to Hegra in the 1st century BC–AD, south of Al Wajh,
northwest Saudi Arabia. Polidori’s large-format photographs reveal the beauty of neglected and
transformed spaces, from Chernobyl to New Orleans after Katrina, and include major projects
such as documenting the restoration of Versailles. His work has been exhibited internationally
at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Royal Academy of Art, and Musée de l’Elysée, and is held in
major collections including MoMA and the J. Paul Getty Museum.
